Impressions

Early 90's - A selection of conté drawings.
Impulsive, each impression was done in seconds. I would get out a sheet approx. 30" x 40"
and move from one drawing to the next —each is aproximately 4" x 4"

A selection of small conté drawings -- Each brief impression from my imagination was like a 'presence’ —each responsiveness arrived at in seconds and approx. 3" x 3" - These are representative of a collection of 100s pursued over a 3-month period in the early 90's. Three or four in a session of 30 might 'work' —or just one out of 10 might work --or I'd fail completely. Many of the images were impressions of people in architectural spaces. A compulsion, there has been a concentration on drawings and sketches periodically since the early 70's, when I was living in NYC. - (See: '
Theatre' and '1972 Olympics' )
